Townhouse Living

Welcome to New York City Townhouse.

Most will agree that living in a freestanding brownstone or townhouse in New York City, if your life permits you to do so, is one of the most privileged ways of inhabiting the city. The townhouse owner is independent, single-minded, likes walking up stairs, tending his (or her) garden, and doesn't mind taking out the trash out if there is no co-op board looking over his shoulder. He could afford a great apartment; perhaps one with more space, endless views and brand, spanking new appliances. The cocoon of a townhouse is more of a statement: this space is mine and no one else's. It appeals to the American pioneer spirit and those who don't care if the city calls, as long as it's only once a decade when a tree root cracks a sidewalk (and it's the townhouse owner's responsibility to fix it. ) And with only a few thousand such houses in Manhattan, this is also a very exclusive club.

This blog will bring you townhouse news, historical and other interesting items and market reports, all about houses in Manhattan. When I have a house for sale, for I am a real estate broker, I will let you know that as well. And if you own or are looking for a townhouse, or are simply fascinated by the idea of one, I hope you will follow this blog, share information with me that you find out about houses, and let me know what else you might need here. And, after all, I would love to help you look for the perfect Manhattan townhouse - just let me know when you are ready.
